The important distinction is that you’re not trying to survive on an extremely restrictive diet. You’re trying to reduce unnecessary added sugar.
Your Taste Preferences May Start to Change
One interesting part of reducing very sweet foods is that foods you previously considered “not sweet enough” may eventually taste different.
A plain yogurt may taste less bland. A piece of fruit may seem noticeably sweeter. Coffee may become easier to drink without several teaspoons of sugar.
That doesn’t mean your taste buds are being “reset” in exactly 30 days, or that everyone will experience the same thing.
But reducing exposure to intensely sweet foods can make it easier for some people to become comfortable with less sweetness.
