    Online claims sometimes suggest that gallbladder removal inevitably causes several serious diseases. There is no basis for saying that everyone who has the gallbladder removed will develop a specific set of diseases.

Most people recover well after the operation.

That said, complications can occur, as with any surgery, and some people experience persistent digestive symptoms afterward. Rare complications can include bile leakage, injury to the

bile ducts, infection, bleeding, or problems related to retained stones.

There is also a condition sometimes called post-cholecystectomy syndrome, a term used when symptoms such as abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, bloating, or diarrhea continue after surgery. These symptoms can have different causes and do not necessarily mean that removing the gallbladder was a mistake.

The important point is that persistent symptoms deserve medical evaluation rather than being automatically attributed to the operation.
