What Happens to the Pe*is as Men Age? The Changes Every Man Should Know

1. The Pe*is May Appear Slightly Smaller

One of the changes men sometimes notice as they get older is that their Pe*is appears smaller than it did when they were younger.

There are several possible explanations. Over time, changes in blood circulation, the elasticity of tissues, and erectile function can affect how the Pen*s looks, particularly when erect. Some men may also develop more fat around the pubic area, which can cover part of the penile shaft and make the visible portion appear shorter.

This does not necessarily mean the Pen*s itself has significantly shrunk. In many cases, the change is related to surrounding tissue or differences in erection quality rather than a major reduction in actual length.

Aging can also affect the body’s connective tissues, including those involved in erections. If a man develops a condition such as Peyronie’s disease, scar tissue inside the Pen*s can cause curvature and sometimes a reduction in length.

A noticeable or sudden change, especially when accompanied by pain, a new bend, or difficulty getting an erection, should not simply be attributed to age.

2. Erections May Become Less Firm

For many men, one of the most noticeable effects of aging is a change in the firmness of their erections.

When a man becomes sexually aroused, blood flows into specialized tissues inside the Pen*s . Those tissues expand, allowing the Pen*s to become firm. This process depends on healthy blood vessels, nerves, hormones, and psychological factors.
