The first piece of popcorn landed on my shoulder.
The second one landed in my hair.
By the time the third handful came flying over the back of my seat, I could feel them in there. Warm, greasy little kernels, nestled deep in my curls like they were planning to stay the winter. I have thick, curly hair. Popcorn doesn’t fall out of hair like mine. It moves in. It gets a mailing address.
