What Is a Potbelly Window Grille?
A potbelly grille is essentially a window security grille with a section that curves outward from the wall.
Instead of sitting completely flat against the window, the middle portion creates a small enclosed or semi-enclosed space.
The result is both visually distinctive and potentially useful.
The extra depth can give people more room around the window without requiring them to remove the security grille or leave the window completely exposed.
In some buildings, the design is mainly decorative. In others, that extra space serves a very practical purpose.
