Neighbors say he was last seen near the scene of the crime, pacing in tight circles like a man outside a delivery room. Others say he has been walking around with the slow, heavy stride of someone who just realized he will be responsible for something other than himself for the first time in his life.
Reports that he had been “a wild young cat, not looking to settle down” have been neither confirmed nor denied, though several sources noted that his dating profile included the phrase “just looking for fun.”
The Mother
Meanwhile, the expecting mother is reportedly doing fine. She is sitting in a sunny window with the serene expression of a woman who knows exactly what she’s carrying and exactly who’s paying for it.
Her owner, the original poster, has said she plans to accept the payment but “is keeping an eye on him,” a phrase that applies equally to the cat and the neighbor.
