But this wasn’t Trump attempting an unorthodox method of resolving the government shutdown – the president has in fact spoken about plans to stage UFC fights on the White House South Lawn to mark the 250th anniversary of the USA .
“I was just flipping through that,” Mamdani said, revealing that it contained some mock ups of the octagon-shaped arena where the fights would be held.
