The Call I Put on Speaker That Changed the Whole Room
Denise was demanding tea again—hotter this time—like my daughter was a hotel employee.
I walked to the TV, stood in front of it, and turned it off.
The room snapped silent.
One of the sisters barked, “What do you think you’re doing?”
I didn’t raise my voice. I didn’t argue.
I announced the rule.
“You have one hour to pack and leave.”
Denise stood up, furious.
“You have no right! This is my son’s house!”
