A mother and father who inflicted horrific injuries on their five-month-old daughter have been found guilty following a heartbreaking case that shocked the local community.
Little Ava Mae Collard was rushed to hospital on 27 February 2020 after emergency services were called to the family home in Stone, Staffordshire. Paramedics found the infant in critical condition and fought to save her, but she sadly passed away a short time later.
An investigation later revealed that Ava Mae had suffered a number of serious injuries, including multiple fractures to her ribs, collarbone, and femur. Medical examinations also found severe trauma to the side of her head.
